MDU420 Dual-Range Methane Monitor
The MDU420's flexibility makes it the one instrument that fits
almost any application where methane must be monitored. Using
patented dual-range infrared technology, the MDU420
continuously detects both low and high levels of methane gas,
from 0% to 100% LEL, and features auto-ranging from percent
LEL to 100% of volume. The infrared sensor carries a 5-year
manufacturer's warranty and requires only infrequent calibration.
The internal constant-flow pump draws samples through an 18"
polycarbonate probe (included).
The unit is housed in a rugged stainless steel case and comes with a leather carrying case. The
rechargeable NiCad battery pack supplies a minimum of 8 hours running time. A variety of optional
probes are available, as is a model with a built-in datalogging module (call for details). The MDU420
measures 4.75" x 2.75" x 2" and weighs less than 30 oz. Approvals: UL and CSA for Class I,
Groups C and D. MSHA (pending): intrinsically safe for methane/air mixtures only. Monitor sold
individually.
